I hate my whole world

For the world never sees it;

A crumb on the floor

Yet won’t let the bees in.

---

I don’t want to blend

Into sky, into rain;

I don’t want to drop

Like acid through pain.

Just leave me,

Leave me to my duties

And be done they shall.

Leave me to my duties

And never ask “how?”

---

I hate my big palms

For wrinkles do show;
I hate my red face

For pimples do grow.

Am I child or am I just

Part of the show?

Will I ever know?

Will I ever grow?

---

I hate the whole world

For my world is treason;

It’s shut off as fluff

And burned for no reason.

---

Will I ever know?

Will I ever grow?

Is there a reason?
