One Day

So much has slipped away,

Has slipped away with time.

Too many unanswered questions.

Way too many "whys".

Things that were once familiar.

Now seem so far away.

Heartache, heartbreak

The pain never subsides.

There's not much I can do.

Except close my eyes and pray.

One day you'll come back to me.

One day... one day.

It's not easy to watch you fade away right before my eyes.

I know this isn't you, but that doesn't make this any easier.

It's difficult to see things come to this.

At times, all I can do is cry...

Many days I wait to see that familiar face.

Many days I long to feel that particular embrace.

I wait and I wait...because...

There's not much I can do.

Except close my eyes and pray.

One day you'll come back to me.

One day...one day.

There's those times when I see that look.

That glowing beauty and sparkling eyes.

Sometimes I see it.

That's when I know you're shining through.

I count on those times to remind myself when I feel I'm without you.

I know who you really are and that I will always remember.

I know that. I will not forget.

Regardless, of this I still love you. I always will.

And so for that....

I will wait. I will wait. I will wait for you.
