A car. With this, they say, you can go anywhere you want. Take a tour of some foreign country, carry yourself to some distant locale, or even just commute back and forth to some dead-end job. But it’s your choice, and your doing.
Yet, there are still so many restrictions. How much do you have for gas, or how realistic is it that you can get yourself there? Once you get there, will you belong? Will you be happy with it, comfortable?
And that matter of comfort, as well, is questionable. The idea of comfort vs. drudgery is always a problem. Chances are, once you get somewhere, you’re going to end up just settling there. After all, you can’t drive forever. You won’t necessarily know where it will be. But you’ll probably have a damn good feeling. So you’ll have to be careful. When that feeling comes, where will you go?
