We sat under lazy fans
Deliriously, looking for linguistic consistencies
The world over; languid,
Lacking light and life
To accomplish anything.

This is
Amateur Etymologists in Love.
Seeking to sexify syllables
And relax in rhetoric.

So in sweet simile,
We decay diction,
Corrode connotations,
And fill figurative language

With our own fiction.
