ONCE UPON A TIME…
Here we go again, another story. Before we start, there are a few things I need to address.
Violence: There is a lot of bloody gory stuff in this one, and it might offend some people…
Homosexuality: This is a SLASH story. That means gay-love. If you don't want to read that then just leave. Don't complain, don't leave rude reviews, just close the page and leave. Any rude reviews will be reported.
Sex: There will be sex in here. Just thought I'd warn ya. Explicit chapters will be marked accordingly.
Bad Language: I have a foul mouth, and it bleeds into my characters…
Non-story related notes:
Hiatus: I have ADHD, and as such I will often forget about my stories… If it goes to long, send me a POLITE message, and I'll try to update as soon as I can. Send me a rude one, and I'll put it on my profile and mock you.
Reviews: I love reviews. Like, uberly so. But it's depressing to go all the way to Fictionpress to read my new review, and all it says is: "I like this. Please continue". Please, please, please at least give me a reason why you like it… even better, advice on how to make it better…
Updates: I try to update my stories as often as possible, but sometimes that's not that often. I have websites to take care of, I have a job, and soon I'll be going back to school, so I can't always update that much. That, and I have a habit of getting really into one story, and I'll update that a bunch of times and forget about everything else
Errors: If you see an error anywhere (misspelling, plot hole, word that appears to be missing, etc.) just drop me a note, otherwise I may not catch it…
Track One- Move Along
"Hello!"
At the sound of the voice, which seemed to ring right next to his ear, Cadence jumped, gasped, and put his hand in a small box of pushpins.
"Hello?" he asked, looking around, all the while calmly pulling pins out of his hand.
The room was empty.
"What the..?" he mumbled, going back to unpacking.
A soft giggle broke the silence,
"I'm over here, silly!"
Cadence turned to face the origin of the voice. There was a boy sitting on the bed, kicking his legs like a child.
"How did you-"
"Are you my new roommate?"
Cadence sat and stared at the sight before him, no words coming to his lips.
"I think you are," said the boy, cocking his head to the side, his jewel bright eyes shimmering, "Cadence Baroque?"
The sound of his name broke Cadence loose from his reverie,
"Uh, yes, that’s me. And you are..?"
The boy giggled again, a sound like bells leaving his pale pink lips,
"I'm your new roommate."
Cadence scowled at the evasive response,
"What's your name?"
The boy stopped his childish motions, and gazed up, his eyes blank, having lost their previous shimmer,
"My name..?"
"Yeah, you know… what people call you..?"
The boy smiled, and smoothly crossed his legs in a strangely feminine gesture,
"Trust me, my dear, I know what a name is."
The boy looked back down, his smile drooping into a thoughtful frown.
"Then what is it?" asked Cadence, his voice dripping with an irritation that one only gets from interacting with someone rather exasperating, albeit rather beautiful.
The grin returned to the boy's face, full force,
"What does it matter? A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet."
Cadence scowled again and went to packing,
"Forget it, I don't care."
The boy erupted into more peals of bell-like laughter,
"I'm sorry, I found our verbal dance to be quite amusing, and was loathe to end it. And aren't you moving in, not out?"
Cadence looked down at the books he'd been shoving back into their box in his anger. He blushed.
"You may call me Dorian Gray."
"Dorian Gray?"
The name rang a bell, somewhere in the back of his mind, amidst the fluff and cobwebs.
"Yes, I think that's fine."
The boy, Dorian, smiled again, and ran a pale slender hand through his chocolate-brown hair. Cadence rolled his eyes at his new roommate's strangeness before pulling a few music books back out of the box that sat in the middle of his new room.
"You play?" Dorian asked, moving off the bed to sit near Cadence on the floor. Cadence nodded, halfway considering telling the kid to leave him alone, that he was weird and creepy, but that would've been rude.
"Yeah, you?" he asked, more out of politeness than actual interest. A small, enigmatic half-smile danced across Dorian's pretty face before he spoke,
"A bit."
"Like what?" Cadence asked, his love of music bypassing his distaste for the other boy.
"Hmm… mostly piano and violin, but I am also well practiced with both the flute and the cello."
"I…play the bass…" Cadence said, looking back down at the books.
"An admirable instrument. One could not have a proper band without a bass, and where would the world be without rock and roll?"
Dorian smiled one of his strange little smiles before taking one of the books and flipping through it.
"Did you know that a cello has the same number of strings as a bass?" he asked as he ran a thin finger across the pages. Cadence bit his lip slightly and nodded. Obviously, he knew, the boy had basically just told him. Dorian giggled a third time, and the sound sent shivers down Cadence's spine.
"Sure you did," he said, still smiling. Cadence scowled and opened his mouth to retaliate, but before a single note could leave his lips, another voice rang from outside the room,
"Dorian? You home?"
At the call, the one called Dorian looked up towards the door, his large blue eyes shining with something that looked a lot like annoyance. He sighed and slowly stood,
"It appears as though my presence is needed elsewhere. I will see you tonight, I suppose, perhaps."
With that said, the boy swiftly and silently exited the room, leaving Cadence to stare after him, his mouth slightly agape.
"Weirdo…" he mumbled, returning to his books, only to notice that the one Dorian had been looking at, was missing.
"Oh, you asshole!"
And thus is begins...Read and review!
