White fills in the blanks:

The stripes between the colors of the sunset

And their lack of natural blending.

One-dimensional, so one-dimensional.

Like cardboard pop-ups in a children’s book.

When did the earth stop trying?

When did I stop trying?

Before the skies went neutral gray.

Before the oil polluted the bay.

Before the night replaced the day,

Eternally-

Moon by moon by sun by sun.

An eclipse for every day and night,

Relentless.

Each battles to block the other’s light.

An eclipse for every day and night-

Relentless.
