Summary: The prompt for this drabble was that the opening words had to be “reach out”, and so this is what I came up with.

‘Reach out…?’

That’s what he wants me to do, just reach out? Like I’m supposed to trust him, after all he’s done? Just extend my hand and take his and…what? Everything’s peaches and cream? What an idiot he is, thinking that I would be so easily convinced, that I could ever trust him again.

But…maybe, if I just give him a second chance…things will turn out better?

He said it was hell without me.

He said that nothing worked without me.

He also said that I was a sorry, shallow excuse for a human being and—

“Forget it, we’re done.”
