Beach.

The mist rolling off the clear blue water, the soft sand squishing between my toes, and the impeccable feeling I get while sitting atop a large, and beautiful rock, all of these amount to the wonderful love I have for the beach. I have always enjoyed traveling to my grandmother’s house on the shore of the Mediterranean, but I could never fully appreciate it until the summer of 2006. I was rocking like I always do on the large, old, wooden, furnished rocking chair that was once my great-grandfathers on my grandmother’s porch while enjoying the sound of crashing wakes. It was too early for anyone to be out, but this was my favorite time of day to be enjoying the scenery, and it was then that I always found myself in my deepest thought. This particular day I was thinking about fantasy.

Fantasy, simply a word, yet at the sametime a key to unlock a world of wonder and creativity. This was the topic that started me on my journey of the summer of 2006, the summer I discovered that I was a mermaid.
