Fear, Will It Come

Why should I be creeping,

Up and down the halls,

Wondering if he’ll be there

Waiting for me to fall

So he can laugh right in my face

Causing pain like shredded lace.

Is he waiting, in darkened corners?

Waiting for me?

Why couldn’t I see,

Before the mess

Why am I blind to everything that isn’t behind?

A creaking stair,

Used to not care,

When the sound echoed through the house

Silent as a squeaking mouse.

Now I listen for any sign

I disturbed his life will he come destroy mine?

Hiding behind closed and locked doors

Carefully walking across freezing floors

Think quicker

Question more

Realizing sooner,

That you don’t like him anymore.
