Don’t Stop

There he was, my whole reason for continuing on with my life, Aiden. He had shaggy brown hair and a tan complexion to match. His eyes were a piercing green and each time he looked at me I felt as if he was looking into my very soul. Many kids called Aiden ‘emo;’ most likely because he wore his signature ‘guy liner’ and tight clothing. He once told me that he only wore his tight jeans because he actually had something to put in them, which I couldn’t help but to silently agree.

Aiden was my best friend which was why it was so hard to tell him my feelings. Aiden had always been there for me when no one else was. When I had become emancipated from my parents he had stood behind me all the way, seeing as he lived alone and offered to let me live with him. He helped me with every single trouble I had. When I was ‘clinically depressed’ Aiden did everything in his power to keep me from committing suicide, which was why he is my reason to live. To tell the truth, without Aiden I am nothing.

Aiden came and sat beside me on the couch draping his arm carelessly over my shoulders. “Hey Bells.” That was his nickname for me, my real name was Rhubella.

“Hey Aiden,” I replied back giving him a small smile.

“Oh, so she smiles!” Aiden said, teasing me. Taking on a more serious tone he continued on, “Something wrong Bells?”

Sliding into the warm capacity of Aiden’s side I mumbled, “Maybe.”

“What’s wrong then?”

Shaking my head I said, “Nothing really, I was just thinking about some things.”

“What kinds of things?” he questioned. I shouldn’t have even told Aiden, now I can’t escape without telling him.

“I like this guy you see.” I’ll just talk about all of this in general so he doesn’t know it’s him.

“Does this guy like you?”

“To tell you the truth, I don’t know. He’s always been there for me no matter what happened; I can trust him with anything.” Way to go Rhubella, you’re such an idiot; giving away a huge hint like that.

Aiden nodded and spoke quietly, “Seems to me that he cares for you a lot. What keeps you from telling him?”

“Rejection.”

Aiden scoffed, using another one of my nicknames, “Rhu, any guy who rejects you is an idiot. Besides, if you’re such close friends with him I’m sure he won’t let anything get awkward.”

“Well in that case…” Pulling away from Aiden I spoke in a rush, “It’s you I like, you’re the guy that I like and I can’t help it at all.”

His eyes widened. “There’s no way you would fall for someone like me. I constantly screw up, I’m nowhere near what you deserve; I’m not the right guy…”

“Au contraire, you are entirely the right guy. When nobody else was there you were. Aiden you even let me live with you when you didn’t need to.”

“What are friends for?”

“Friends are for everything, but you’re someone I want to be more than a friend with…” Looking down, I mumbled, “Although I accept it if you don’t.”

Aiden tilted my chin up and looked into my eyes. “Rhu, I told you any guy to reject you was an idiot. I’m not about to join that list.” Taking my hand in his, he continued on, “Plus, I’ve like you for a while too.”

Smirking, I brushed a couple of strands of hair out of my face. “Well, you can’t ever ask me to move in with you seeing as I already am living with you.”

Laughing, Aiden said, “True, but I can break the first rule that teenagers get told to do.”

“What is that?”

Kissing me softly, as though he would break me, Aiden said, “No kissing on the first date.”

“You call this a date?” I asked with my eyebrow raised.

“Well, we are at my house…alone…watching movies, so yeah, it can qualify.”

“It can, but since you already broke the first rule you might as do it again…”

“With pleasure…” Aiden kissed me again, this time long and hard. When we broke apart catching our breath he asked, “Got anything to say?”

“Yeah, don’t stop.”

A/N: I got this from the song "Don't Stop" by innerpartysystem. When I was listening to it I thought of it as the plot bunnies faithfully attacked me. I hope you guys enjoyed. Reviews are always welcomed you know? You are welcome to read my other stories too! ;)
