Sense

There is no we for you and I.
Two separate people, two separate lives.
I want to try to join us together,
But still I feel doubt.

There is too much difference between you and I.
Like two opposing parts of a single whole.
I want to try to piece us together,
But still I smell fear.

There will always be a you and I.
Two people being simple friends.
I want to move beyond this point,
But still I see disaster.

There is no need for you and I.
The two of us can be apart.
I want to be either with you or without you,
But still I hear hope.

There is no we for you and I.
Two different people, two different lives.
I want to be a part of you,
But still I taste truth.
