Bodies
Dark liquid ran in between the gravel of the winding driveway. A stink clung to the air around that bodies that were limp. The man held a knife, sweating and grunting in between the back and forth motion of the knife. Thunder cackled in the near distance. The girl watching was sniffling, salty tears running down her cheeks; a few even made it to the ground. Then the sky started to cry, too. Little droplets hit the small rocks, as well as the girl and the man.
“Why are you doing this? It feels wrong and makes me want to gag.”
The man ignored her and continued as the rain picked up and lightning lit the sky on fire. He continued to cut the heads off and threw them into the run-off, cast off as useless garbage. The girl gagged as the decapitated head hit the ground with a stomach-churning thud. She couldn’t watch any longer – she ran up the driveway and into the house, trying to aim for the trash can.
Blood washed away slowly in the rain, and in time, completely vanished from the dirt and gravel. In time the deed was forgotten and all was forgiven. But the little girl will never forget how her father cut the heads off the fish and throw them aside as useless garbage.
This was kind of a strange story, but one that I think had to be written. It was weird how I felt like I had to write it. Hope you enjoyed it ^-^
