Back in May, my English teacher wanted us to write a book of poems. One of the poems were supposed to be to a friend. So I picked you, James, even though I didn't get the chance to really get to know you. It's my way of saying a thanks I never did take the time to tell you. RIP James Barret.
My Thanks
It's the start of the rest of our lives
Standing here without you
You're our hero, and now our guard
And it's hard to see the past the blue
It's still in awe, how last year went.
How it hurts us all.
And it breaks all of our hearts
Tearing us into two parts.
You've left a hole in all our hearts
Because that's the place where you belonged
So how are we supposed to move on?
I guess we just have to
Because nobody can bring you back.
And now, I want to take the chance
To say a thanks to you
For what you did, that day.
You stood up for what you believed was right so
Rest in peace, James Barret
I just hope you know that you are always missed.
