He paced the floor for the hundredth time. His hands shook as he combed them through his hair unconsciously. Everything was set. The candles were in place. The ring was in his pocket. Table set and ready to go, dinner cooling on the stove, all he had to do to complete the scene was hit play on the stereo.

He chuckled nervously at his own restlessness. He flopped onto the couch to still himself, but his legs bounced up and down. He rolled his eyes, but nothing would stop his jitters.

*knock knock*

Standing, he swallowed hard. Times up.
