Blood and Dreams
When we’re no longer taught
The eternal thought
That dreams must be bought
Often by sacrifice
And for that priceless price
Only blood will suffice
Scorning the harsh fee
Believing dreams are free
Makes freedom a dream
Its loss of little esteem
Until lost is again found
Our feet turned around
On familiar ground
Remembering the forgot
That battles must ever be re-fought
To keep what
Is blood-bought.
