A/N: This is the result of introspection, wishful thinking, and a beautiful night. I hope it's not total crap lol

Enjoy!

Airplanes

I saw four planes fly overhead tonight

In the last of the daylight.

They were flying westward

Towards the setting sun.

Their destinations were unknown to me,

But, in my mind, they were flying to you.

For each jet cutting across the purple sky,

Moving closer and closer to you,

I whispered “I love you”,

Hoping maybe—just maybe—

Somebody on that plane would hear.

And maybe—just maybe—

They’d find you and tell you,

So you’d know how much I mean it.

Three thousand miles away

And you still make my heart soar.

Please tell me it’s not a one-way flight.
