You tell me to smile,
You tell me to be happy,
In this world full of life’s joys.

I don’t see the world the same as you,
Where things are bright,
And shine when the sun hits it just right.

Can you see the world through my eyes,
And see what I see,
And feel the pain and sorrow I do?

These last couple months,
You try to help me be happy like you are,
But I guess I am hopeless.

I wished to live in a world with someone once a while back,
The world has changed since then,
And the new view is with you.

You reach your hand out to me and smile,
And your smile is in my mind,
Then a smile is on my face.

Days I wish we could see each other,
Nights I dream of us together,
And months I realize it may never happen.

I tell you I cry,
How sad I feel,
And you never abandon me.

Will you be there for me forever,
Or will life change like it does,
And strip the kindness you give me?

The times I wish I could hug you,
The moments I wish you could hug me,
As I become even more sad as life goes on.

I smile because you live,
I cry because you are not here,
And I live to hope that we may be together one day

I smile with those thoughts,
I cry because of those truths,
