A/N: This was written as a school assignment, but I acutally like how it came out. We had to look at the painting "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso and write a poem including several given poetic devices.
I hope you enjoy, and I'd really appreciate it if you took the time to review :)
A light tears through the darkness,
throbbingpulsing through the night.
The screams call out like thunder.
Crimson blurs to black and white.
Querida and herida meld
as skin tearsburns from clasping arms.
The rain scrapes down like razors,
as the raging fires crawl and swarm.
Crashboombang,
it calls your name,
but you have no name
left to
give.
Only a child,
a heart,
a soul,
to feed the raining sun.
-el ojo t.e está mir.an.do
Your flesh is gone. You are but a soul
as you echo through the skies.
You beg:
“Hold me.
Mold me.
Do what you must.”
But the master hears no cry.
Your body lays in pieces,
but no rest shall its tatters seek.
No man nor beast
nor angel’s light
can find its way tonight.
-desc.a.nses e.n pe.d.azos-
The fires sizzle,
and fade,
and quell,
but the earth finds no reprieve.
The land is charred; ashen; gray.
There is nowhere left to hide.
In crimson robes you wander,
among a world of black and white.
You cry.
You scream.
You call.
You beg.
