Verse
One:
Planning all our weddings,
Down to the flowers,
And
bridal showers.
Then we're fighting,
Over boys and
parties,
That should've never been ours,
In the first
place…
Chorus:
Toss it all out the window,
Leave me
hanging by a thread,
I just wanna be angry.
Oh wait, I already
am.
It shoulda been all friends,
On graduation day.
Pinky
promises don't mean anything,
When you act this way.
[We
shoulda been smiling.]
Verse
Two:
Laughing at those silly boys.
And those R rated
movies,
The thrill made funny.
Then crazy accusations,
Lies,
and exclusions.
We shoulda been smiling.
Chorus:
Toss
it all out the window,
Leave me hanging by a thread,
I just
wanna be angry.
Oh wait, I already am.
It shoulda been all
friends,
On graduation day.
Pinky promises don't mean
anything,
When you act this way.
[We
shoulda been smiling.]
Verse
Three:
Shoulda been all of us smiling,
On graduation day,
in
pictures we'll show our kids,
and grandkids,
and say:
"We
planned all our weddings,
Right down to the flowers,
And all
our bridal showers…"
