We spend, we compete, we deplete, and we destroy.

The capitals and he kings, we play our games

And we run our money around.

Until it has infiltrated our hearts and our dreams.

Until it means nothing and everything all at once.

They have always hated us for that.

They wanted to tear it down.

Teach us a lesson, they thought.

Watch our hearts and dreams smoke into the sky.

But try as they might:

Even the World Trade Center site

Has a gift shop now.
