Maybe Even Soon

I haven't talked to you in awhile

So I thought I'd let you know

I'm doing all right, I'm doing okay

You don't need to worry about little old me

I'm moving along steadily

I'm establishing my place

I'm sorry you can't be there to watch me grow

To watch me change, to watch me thrive

It's hard for you, I understand

To see me walk down that way

It's hard for me to watch you fade away

To where I might not see you again

But I think you should know

Life may be short and then it's the end

But it's what you make it that makes it long

And right now, I'm on the right track

I wish you could join me by my side

For now, I go and I move,

I jog or I run

But I hope to see you again someday
