Cupid, darling cupid, you seem alone to me,

Your little bow and arrow, shooting hearts so lone-ely.

They all cheer to see your smiles, when you aim in true love’s light,

But no one sees your tears, when your heart stays in night.

--

None here to shoot your arrow, into your lonely heart,

You, poor darling cupid, were curs-ed from the start.

But never do you coil, from your destined task,

You are ever faithful, even when in dark.

--

And so I say this prayer, for you, poor darling man,

And I hope that one day soon, loves fall into your hand.

For if anyone deserves, an arrow in the heart,

Cupid, it is you; and so I hope that love does hark.
