If Time is a music box,
and every winding leads
to a different random melody,
I would turn it a million and one times
past a million sweet languorous tunes
to get the one song I desire.

If Fate is a network of paths
with twists and turns and forks
and every one has a different ending,
I would explore the world of Fate
so that I will arrive at the road
that leads to you soonest.

But such is my lot with Time and Fate
tainted by past woes perhaps
that I always arrive late,
standing at the deserted station
with a suitcase, bleeding and whispering,
beat-beat… beat-beat… beat… stop.
