An Untraditional Girl

So far summer’s been a drag, or my summer at least, and I’ve been told that posting an online journal or diary was major fun, and I wanted to spare my friend(s) the discomfort of having to hear about my everyday life, and so here I am!

I’m not expecting people to read this; I try to keep my expectations to a minimum to avoid disappointment.

The reason I named this thing ‘untraditional girl’ ‘cause I do think I am untraditional, my family is also untraditional in a sense, (but we’ll talk about that later).

My mom’s parents are visiting from their country this summer, and I have dishwashing duty after dinner every night since we don’t have a dishwasher, so last night my Grandma beat me to the kitchen, so I was like: “Oh, Lola (that’s what they call grandmas in the Philippines) you don’t have to, it’s my job to do the dishes”

And she goes: “No problem I’ll do it”

Then I persisted ‘cause she’s a stubborn woman, but she says “You go rest, I need to do some work, I’m very lazy these days”

So I insisted again, and this time she refused and yelled at me! I swear she almost smacked me, if that’s what I get for trying to be polite then… humph!
