She slept with her legs spread wide
Semi expecting an unrealistic event to occur
From beneath her sheets
Like any hopeful
It was tainted

She spent her afternoons with cow blood spattered on her face
As she rolled the lunch special in the back kitchen
Fully expecting something wonderful to occur

Her mornings were twisted, her legs-fatigued from the time spent apart
The alarm sounded
With the expectations of good rock

Instead
A sad symphony
Which left her heart unnerved

Like any other fairy tale, this one ends the same as it begins
Unsatisfied
Unanswered
Distraught
