more than wishing, than dreaming

i’m in a writing kind of
mood but i’m tired of
writing about starry starry
nights, metaphors in the
dregs of my morning pot
of coffee and the sunbeams
in his smile. sometimes a
shared glance is just an
accident and pretty girls
glowing like gold will never
know my name. i’ve spent
too many sleepless nights
looking into fires trying to forget
all the times you held my hand
or getting dizzy lying too close
to you looking up at the
stars. i am really not any
different from the person i
was a year ago. yesterday.
tomorrow. and tomorrow
morning i’ll rub sleep from
my eyes, rest my face
under the pillows, wonder
when the dreams will
finally stop.

a/n: I am every person I have ever met.
