(“Snowbirds” are Winter tourists who migrate from their cold northern

homes to warmer southern locales like Arizona, my home state. We

are always glad to see them, although we tease them a little.)

Oh, what a happy day!

When snowbirds fly Arizona way.

Riding southern breezes

from northern freezes.

To be greeted by Yuma

with much good huma.

And sunny Tucson,

will put the dog on.

In RV parks they’ll alight

to our merchants’ delight.

Their pockets open to swallar

the Yankee dollar.

And Indians will whoop

as their casinos recoup

From the Canadian goose

playing fast and loose.

So let’s all shout a loud Hooray!

When snowbirds fly Arizona way.
