Shooting Stars

Stars, a fascinating phenomenon.

They twinkle and give us light
even long after they've exploded in space
and have died off, their light continues

Through the atmosphere.

They are unaware of their importance;
we put our heart and souls into them
through wishes of better tomorrows,
and finding true love, as we see this stream
of light.

They glimmer, giving us hope.
Only they know that these wishers
are soon to be devastated, their own fault
for putting all faith
into just a source of light,
Not wonderment.

These stars,
so hopeless, hung in blackness of the night,
disappointing the people below
because of their inability to grant wishes
(it's not their fault they aren't magic.)
And what about the stars,

What do they wish upon?

A/N: I've been thinking a lot about shooting stars.
Fictionpress formatting is difficult...This isn't exactly what it's supposed to look like
but it's the best I can do. Hope you enjoy :)
