My friend Desiree sent me this. I thought I'd do her a favor and post it here. Let me know what you think of it.

I am a girl…
That is quiet and shy…
And seems to have it made…
But that's just the opposite.

I am a teenager…
But yet still a child…
If only I know how it felt to be a happy child…
But sadly those memories where never made…

I am a daughter…
My mom and dad love me…
But I was taken away from my mom…
And I never met my dad…

I am a great friend…
My friends are my family…
You can count on me to be a great learner and give the best advice I can…
But because I move so much I end up having to leave.

I am a good student…
But I am struggling to keep up…
I reluctantly go to class…
But I never want to leave school…

I am happy on the outside…
But crying on the inside…
I cry tears of pain, struggles, and tragedy because of my past…
But you will not see a single tear…

I am confident…
In the publics eye I keep my head up…
But behind close doors…
I fall apart…

I am a fighter…
But I will never harm any one…
Because I can still feel the bruises from my past…
And I will fight to make sure history does not repeat it's self.

I am a lover…
I care about everyone I met…
Everyone deserves some one to love and care for them…
If only I knew how it felt to be loved…

I am a soldier on the front line of life…
I defend my right to be respected…
And protect what is rightfully mine…
And I will not go down with out a fight…

I am brave…
I will not let anyone put me down…
Growing up around drugs, alcoholics, and violence I was always scared…
But I am sick and tired of always being scared of what's going to happen, now is the time to pick myself up and get what I deserve.

I am a foster child…
I face the harsh reality that I am no longer a family member…
But a big paycheck each month…
I am worth money every month but only I see I am priceless…

I am a client…
DYFC exists because of me…
They get paid because of cases like mine…
But yet I am thrown around like property…

I am a traveler…
I have seen the dark corners of my room…
And shadows of my family as they walked right past me…
I've traveled from foster care to foster care because I did not belong…
But now I want to travel to a place I can finally call home.

But most importantly

I am a survivor….
I survived not having a real mother….
I survived harsh abuse from people I thought to be family…
I survived something I never thought I would, my past.

I am the future….
I am a future social worker…

I am a future foster mother…
I will give what foster kids of America need the most

I am me…
The girl who is timid and shy…
The girl who went through hell and back…
But yet I am still standing…

My best friend of 10 years, Desiree, has gone through so much. I felt that I could only be doing her a favor by posting this here. Please leave reviews and I will pass them on to her. Thank you so much guys.
