Dear Readers,

I thought you should know that this story is a parody. No more… no less. (I think.) The story’s original name was simply “A Gay Story” but since that’s not very exciting the first part was added. Know that yes while this story does have yaoi (homosexual) overtones, it still retains it’s rating of PG-13. I mean, they have sex but you don’t witness it.

The Curse of Keiko-chan: A Gay story

It all started when he got down on his knees before his beloved Keiko-chan in an attempt to propose. It was supposed to be a happy occasion, right? He had planned it all out as well as a man can plan it. Everything was just right: the fancy restaurant with a classical band playing in the background. His girlfriend in a stunning red dress and a slight blush to her cheeks from the wine they were drinking.

Everything was going well until he actually got to the proposal part.

She gave the ring only a fleeting glance. Then Keiko-chan rejected him in the worst possible way. “I’ve been sleeping with Jun,” she said.

“What? My room mate?”

“I never loved you, Nakamura. I was just using you.” She grabbed her purse and placed it under her arm.

“Eh?”

“I just thought I should tell you and end this before you make too much of a fool of yourself.” She stood up. But Nakamura had already made a fool of himself. People were staring at him right now in the restaurant as he was being rejected. He gathered up what little pride was left in him.

“You… you devil woman, Keiko-chan!” he declared pointing at the woman.

“Goodbye Nakamura.” She said turning to leave, her devil’s heels making hellish clicks upon to floor. That was probably when Nakamura’s life changed forever. He called it the curse of Keiko-chan. Surely this event wasn’t enough to turn him gay, right?

A few years later, Nakamura became head of a small department within a large company. Everyone called it the “hole in the wall” department because the whole department consisted of only six people in one room separated from everyone else in the company.

These six members pretty much did their own thing and worked a normal nine to five day every weekday with nice yearly bonuses. The job paid well and offered stability so no one planned to leave the department any time soon. Because there were only six people, they grew close to each other. Also, through a bizarre and somewhat cruel trick of fate, their working lives seemed to revolve around one person – their department head Nakamura Kazuo who despite having a position of authority, didn’t act mature

He was a man who was constantly getting dumped by his girlfriends because of the devil who he called Keiko-chan. It all started when his first love (named Keiko-chan) broke up with him in college. Flash forward a few years and Nakamura was once again crying to his co-workers after the eighth break up that year. “That devil Keiko-chan!” He sobbed.

“I thought her name was Remi.” Tanaka, one of the girls of his department said. She was closest to Nakamura. At least, as close as a girl can get without being a girlfriend. Nakamura had attempted to date her but she had a no dating policy when it came to her co-workers.

“She is Keiko-chan!” He swore. “I’ve been cursed by the devil Keiko-chan! There is a whole army of Keiko-chans! They are all following me!” He whined.

“What, is this the eighth break up this year?” Arai wondered sarcastically. Arai was probably Nakamura’s closest friend in the department. He was a sarcastic fellow with a dry sense of humor. The two shared common interest in soccer so they sometimes hung out outside of work to watch soccer games on TV.

“Oh no, Nakamura boss.” Suzuki gasped. Suzuki was Tanaka’s good friend who believed that Nakamura had personality flaws and that was the reason for his unsteady dating life.

Nakamura, our protagonist of the story stood up suddenly. “I swear I’ll go gay!” he swore. This statement would have been shocking except it was all just a part of Nakamura’s routine. Every time he broke up with a girlfriend, he said the same thing.

“That’ll never happen.” Tanaka pointed out.

“Yes it will! Because of all the devils named Keiko-chan!”

“Don’t you think it’s your fault you can never keep a girl? You must be doing something wrong, boss.” Suzuki spoke up.

He looked at her in horror and then pointed at her. “Keiko-chan!” He said pointing at her.

“Eh? My name is Sumi! Sumi!” She said waving her arms around wildly.

“I guess we should go out drinking tonight.” Arai calmly interrupted. By now it was routine to go out drinking whenever Nakamura suffered one of his break ups.

“Yes… I have to drink this off!” Nakamura swayed like he was already drunk.

“Do we have to come?” Inoue said clinging to her boyfriend Yamada. They both worked in the department but were dating and acted like a newly wed couple.

“You have to come!” Nakamura ordered even though he didn’t really have the right to do so.

“Let’s cheer the boss up.” Arai said. “Here’s your coat, Nakamura.”

“Oh, Arai! Thank you!” He said.

So the whole department went out drinking to cheer up their leader, a flighty guy who could never keep a girlfriend. He quickly drank up and began to complain to the others. “I hate clingy girls…” he droned on. “And those who never wanna have sex every night. A guy has needs too you know.”

“Who wants to have sex every night?” Tanaka said testily.

“Well not every night but… I… can’t… wait too long…”

“No one wants to hear about that Nakamura.” Arai said trying to change the subject.

“Ah, girls are so annoying!” He complained taking another swig of his beer.

“Excuse me?” Tanaka and Suzuki said at the same time.

“Always wanting to talk about themselves and pretty themselves up.” He put his head on the table.

“Ahg! No wonder you got dumped!” Tanaka complained.

“Tanaka-san.” He called teasingly. He smiled with his head still on the table looking over at her. “Will you go out with me?”

“What? No way!” She said slamming her empty cup onto the table. “I don’t want to be your rebound girl!” She said taking another beer and quickly downing it.

“Keiko-chan! All women are devil Keiko-chans!”

“What? Don’t just call women your devil Keiko-chan when it suits you!” Inoue scolded.

“Besides Tanaka has already rejected you many times before.” Yamada agreed.

“In fact, this is on cue with the same events that happened last time you were dumped.” Arai sighed.

“And the time before that.” Suzuki added.

“And the time before that!” Tanaka growled. “And all the times we’ve been dragged out here drinking just because you got dumped by one of your girlfriends!”

“I can’t help it! It’s the Keiko curse!”

“Arg! You’re hopeless!” Tanaka threw her hands up in the air.

“Really… it must be a personality flaw boss-san.” Suzuki offered.

“I can’t help it if none of the girls are right for me!” Nakamura boss whined.

“Well, what kind of girl is right for you then?” Suzuki wondered.

“One that likes the things I like!” He stood up on the table.

“Like?” Suzuki humored him.

“Video games and soccer!” He announced.

“What kind of girl would like those?” Tanaka wondered.

Arai pulled Nakamura off the table but the boss continued his speech anyway. “Oh and one that isn’t overly concerned about her looks. I hate waiting an hour or two just to be able to use the bathroom! And taking so much space in the closet with clothes upon clothes!”

Yamada laughed only to be glared at by his girlfriend so he quickly shut up.

“The perfect girl for me wouldn’t care about cute things or coo over little kids and animals. She would only have three outfits, which would include a nightgown, work suit, and a casual dress.” He said counting on his fingers. “She would save money by washing her body and hair with cheap soap… none of them expensive cosmetics, you know? And any extra money would be spend on me!” He laughed haughtily as everyone gawked at him.

The image of such a girl made everybody nearly lose his or her soul.

“Such a girl doesn’t exist like that.” Tanaka told him.

“It almost sounds like your describing a man.” Arai said.

“Huh?” They all looked over at him strangely.

“A man doesn’t necessarily spend outrageous amounts of money on his looks after all, nor does he own a huge array of outfits.” He shrugged.

“It’s true.” Yamada agreed.

“Oh come on you guys!” Inoue said hitting her boyfriend.

“I’m going home.” Tanaka complained. “I’m tired of listening to Nakamura complain.”

“No… longer!” Nakamura whined. “You have to stay longer!” He said clinging to Tanaka.

“I see you everyday at work! Why would I want to stay out late just to see you even more?”

“Devil Keiko-chan!”

“I’m going too.” Suzuki said.

“I guess we should head home too.” Inoue said grabbing Yamada to come with her.

“Noo!” Nakamura cried.

“Don’t worry, Nakamura. I’ll stay with you.” Arai said.

“Nori-kun!” He said glomping him. “You’re my only true friend.” Arai’s first name was Norio but Nakamura called him Nori when he was drunk and sometimes when they were alone together or when he was feeling especially affectionate. Actually, it was rather hard to predict when he would call Arai by his first name.

“Yeah, yeah.” Arai waved his hand to brush Nakamura off.

“See you at work, Nakamura-san.” Inoue waved.

“Bye.” Yamada said simply.

Nakamura simply stuck his tongue out at him. “You’re acting immature Nakamura boss!” Suzuki scolded.

“Yall are all traitors!” He yelled after them.

After they had left, Nakamura put his head on the table again. “Hey Arai…” He said.

“Hmm?”

“Thanks for staying with me.” He said beginning to doze off.

“Huh? Oh yeah…”

Arai Norio had a secret. His secret was that he liked his boss. Was that too predictable? Maybe… So far he had kept his feelings to himself as Nakamura went through girlfriend upon girlfriend.

“She was devil Keiko-chan number 17…” Nakamura was mumbling as Arai rolled his eyes and led him home. “Or maybe 16… because devil Keiko-chan 15 could be written off as a one night stand…”

“I still can’t believe you number them…” Arai sighed hauling the man down the street.

“Nori-chan!” the drunk guy suddenly clung to Arai. “I don’t wanna go home! I’ll have bad dreams! I just know it! Keiko-chan will haunt me in my sleep!”

“Geez.” Arai sighed. “It’s the same thing every time you get dumped. You’re such a baby.”

“I can’t help it.” Nakamura sniffled pathetically.

“Alright, let’s go. Up the stairs. Come on.” Arai said leading the drunken man up to his apartment.

“You’re the best, Nori-chan!” he gushed as they made it into the door of his apartment.

“Take off your shoes, Nakamura.” Arai said as if talking to a little kid.

“Okay!” He gushed giddily.

Arai sighed and then went into the next room. Nakamura meanwhile had taken off his shoes, and his socks, and his tie, and his shirt, and his belt, and his pants…

“Nori-chan!” He said coming into the room.

Arai glanced at the naked drunk man. “I said to take off your shoes, not your entire wardrobe.”

“I was hot!” Nakamura complained. Arai sighed and closed his eyes in annoyance.

“You really are annoying.” Arai said stalking to Nakamura.

“Eeeeeh?” Nakamura said in a drunken slur. “We’re both men so it shouldn’t be…” Arai grabbed him and threw him on the bed then. “Ow, what was… Nori?” He said finding the man on top of him.

“It really is unfair. You come to my house complaining about other women. For so long I’ve ignored my feelings and left you alone but now you appear before me naked? I’m at my limit, Nakamura.” He said stroking the man’s face.

“What? What is it?” Nakamura wondered.

“You don’t understand? Fine! Then I’ll show you!” He said leaving a sloppy but dominating type kiss on Nakamura’s drunken lips. He then pulled away and Nakamura looked at him with a mix of shock and dizziness.

“Nori. Nori! You kissed me!”

“Nakamura, I like you.” Nakamura only responded with swirls in his eyes. “Tsk, I’ll show you how much I like you then, you drunken slob!” He announced angrily taking off his own shirt. “I’ll show you with my body. I’ll show you so that even a drunk person like you could understand!” He said sliding off Nakamura and taking off the rest of his clothing.

He climbed back into the bed. “Zzzzzz…” Nakamura snored.

Arai’s eye twitched violently. “Did you fall asleep?”

Next chapter: Nakamura wonders why he wakes up naked next to an equally naked Arai. Talk about awkward, right? Then Nakamura freaks and contimplates the secret to sex between men. Stay tuned.
