Fleeting Thoughts on a Window Pane

by, Cassandra

Tracing fingers through the condensation left behind,
she whispers fleeting thoughts into the window pane.

"Nothing's ever what it seems."

Life lines frost over as the minutes tick on by,
and dew drops trickle from shuttered eyes.

"Everybody needs a hand to hold."

A rhythm pulses beneath her skin,
as lacquered nails tap out her song.

"Nobody ever wants to be alone."

Along the fragile woven web,
she etches her fleeting thoughts.

"Everything needs love to breathe."
