My Reason Turns to Dust

My reason turns to dust when I see you face,

All thoughts cease, other passions will erase,

I only think of your chocolate eyes and curly hair.

I’m paralyzed head to foot, I shiver in secret ecstasy,

My fists and legs tighten thinking of you next to me,

But I open my eyes, to realize, you are not there.

Why is it that your name makes me smile every time?

I cling to your every word, listen to your every rhyme,

And a tear drops when I tell myself you don’t care.

We’re miles away physically from each other’s heart,

Even if I did see you, we would still be worlds apart.

I would only be the girl who’d stop, blush and stare.

My thoughts are puffs of smoke that only smell like bliss

Shaped like your waxen figure of a gorgeous Adonis.

We can’t be, I say, for to every girl I do not fare.

I’m in love with you, but you don’t give a damn,

Thanks for reminding me of how worthless I am.

I’ll find someone who loves me back somewhere.
