Sunset Lovers
The sun’s fading light, brilliant colors of the sky
Reflecting off the ocean, bringing the cool night
Few stars begin to shine, being so hesitant at first
They’re unseen, being hidden by jealous city lights
All along the beach, two lovers notice the tiny stars
Walking alone, making footprints in the moist sand
They hear the roaring waves, they see beach flowers
Forgetting the outside world, together hand in hand
Yet when clouds are coming, hiding moon and star
The two run to escape the rain, hiding under a tree
Water is relentless, they’re soaked but they laugh
But who cares about rain? They are happy just to
Be together with forgotten stars and lonely moon
Knowing with the dawn, they will part too soon
