right time, wrong body

i.
nausea in my head, a sick
sweat that breaks my bones, melts
me into a jelly mass.

ii.
if arms
are weightless, light as silk
worms’ heaven homes,
and legs flop like fish
from fresh water, should my
back be so bent into angles?

iii.
why can’t my brain
and my body be
awake at the same time?
it’s always too dark
when it comes time
to write, and i do
not have night vision,
just the ability to sleep
with dreams and without
a way to get them on paper.

a/n: in other words, too tired to write, even though my muse says yes. or feeling not so awesome. work is stressful.
