We’ve been friends for a while now,

You’ve made me frown,

You’ve made me smile.

We’ve been through all the crap together,

Through boys, parents , and school issues,

And we promised to stick it out forever.

As time went on, both of us changed;

We would, we could, never be the same.

You went your own way,

Had your heart broken,

And I was the one who was there to say

“It’s alright.”

I haven’t changed much, if at all,

Through watching you soar,

and watching you fall.

I’ve known what to say when you’ve asked for advice,

And I’ve helped you put yourself back together afterwards.

But what do I say when my friend is about to screw up her life forever?

What do I do when the pieces are too small to put back together?

I don’t know…..

But I’m not giving up.

I’m going to help you, because that’s part of who I am.

And
