Smoking my lungs black again,
The pain and sorrow you brought filling my body,
Tar clinging to the soft pink walls,
Tainting all that was light and clean.
Nicotine memories in my blood and brain,
Carcinogens collect in the tissues,
Rotting my life away.
I smoke because you do.

My lips are numb,
Tongue tied with whiskey,
Feeling you slip from my mind,
To my heart,
To the cells in my hand,
The bones of my back,
Dying liver screams with the agony Of a thousand shattered dreams.
I drink because you do.

The cuts are deep and invisible,
The wounds on my heart will never heal,
As I draw the blade of your memory across The vein of my soul.
In the blood.
In the pain.
I'll never let you go.
I bleed because you don't.
