my birthday is next week, and nathaniel
is insisting on getting me a present.
mostly because i get him a present every
birthday and christmas and he's never
gotten me anything. so this year, he's
being all, "i will get you something!"

but the other day, he said he didn't have
a lot of money. i was like, "you know you
don't have to." and he was, "no, no! i'm
going to!"

i was half-tempted to say something
along the lines of, "you don't want to
spend any money? just take me on a
date and we'll call it even."

but, no. that would be kind of selfish.
so as much as i want him to take me
out, i will not ask for that.

(i will, instead, ask for a season of house
on dvd. ha ha ha.)
