1Fulfilling my domestic duty,

wearing a charming red number

of which Liv Tyler

would be proud.

A feisty, bloody sauce

is simmering softly on the stove,

its delicate splatters synonymous

to a fiery woman’s cool-down.

Once upon a time,

a woman cleaned her house

wearing nothing but

corset, petticoat, garter and hose.

Nowadays she’s adorned with

bills, her nudity covered by

the sweaty stress of reality,

a burden like a baby on her back.

She folds laundry with

the apt skill of a housewife

but lacking artistry and affection

of a passionately trained

housewife.
