Life is like a blanket. All the little threads and fibers are needed to make the big picture. All the little details are needed to make life, well, life. Life as a blanket; blankets are life.
Unluckily my mother doesn’t consider this a good excuse for staying in bed all day. My philosophical endeavors do not impress her.
“Blankets are serious things,” I told her.
“No,” she said, smiling, “they’re really not. Now get your lazy ass out of bed.”
And that was that.
