"Now You've Seen the World"

A one-shot supernatural prose.

"What do you see?" She said in a serene tune as she looked mischievously her latest prey.

The man in turn, shook his head in frustration then spoke, "Nothing…" He replied bluntly.

Having heard his reply, she laughed her treacherous laugh which echoed throughout the abandoned tunnel.

He stood immobile, unknowing of what to do or what to say. All he had as an option was to wait and keep calm.

And that was what he did.

He made no pre-emption.

She was circling the man. That phantom of a woman let her silk robe trace and prick his skin.

She would tease him by whispering all sorts of non-sense in his hair and playing with his hair.

Still, he made no move.

He waited until every fraction of light disappeared and the darkness swallowed his entirety. He was frustrated now. He was trying to make sense of things, especially the witch's promise…

The witched made a vital covenant with him. His set price was paid for, all that was left was its fulfillment.

And if it were to be fulfilled, his life, would forever be changed…

No not changed, but… restored…

"When will it come?" He muttered, repeating those words to himself.

His emotions were driving him inside. He wanted relief, he needed to be satiated.

So, when he could no longer contain the teasing from the wretched woman, he finally opened his mouth to speak,

"Enough!" He started, "Cure me! You vowed… the recovery of my sight. I have lived my life in darkness…" The man full of melancholy, gritted his teeth and breathe heavily as he continued, "I yearn to experience living and breathing in color…"

"Let me see!"

The malevolent witch did not speak for a while. She contemplated on the blind man's demand.

Yes, it is true that she had promised him that she let him see the world as she would see it. But, for a moment, she became hesitant to let him do so; for her view of the world was slightly different from what he was longing.

"What do you see?" She asked once more, this time in a monotonous tune. She dodged his demands knowing that arguing with him would be a waste. Instead, she decided to test the man's will once more…

"Are you deaf?!" He said enraged, "NOTHING! I SEE NOTHING!!!"

"Then," The woman began, "You have seen the world."

A cold gust of wind went pass him and he felt a soft touch I his cheek.

He felt her cold breath as it pricked his skin… The witch as close enough to let him hear her heart beat…

If it was indeed, a heart…

But the man still didn't understand. His patience has long gone and so was the woman…

Or was she?

"You have seen the world as it is now, for you have seen darkness…"

And now, the man finds himself in deep contemplation, deeply stricken by the parting words of the woman who gave him false hope and the woman, the wretched witch… the black Cleric…

She watches.

AN: This story was written for the College of Science Journal English Literature G.A. in our University.

I have a few more, hopefully, I'll be able to upload everything by the second week of september.
