Let them not destroy your hopes
And dreams
Let them not break you
Break you until you’re nothing
Until you’re hollow
Because if they don’t
The will no longer hold you down
Hold you down in their hell
In your prison

Let them not
Torture your body
Your soul
Because then
They cannot keep you down
And then…
You can fly away from this chaos
This war

Let them not pound words
And visions
Of their life
Their history
Into your mind
Your head
Because then
You will disappear
And that’s
What they want

Let them not take your voice
Without a fight
Because
Your words
Will shape the life
Of history

Part 2: I Want to Promise You…

I want to promise you
That those chains
Holding you down
Will no longer hold you down

I want to promise you
That your broken wings
The wings of an angel
Will mend again
So you
Can fly away from this chaos
This war

I want to promise you
That your wounds
Your scars
Of torture
And pain
Will disappear
And not harm you anymore

I want to promise you
Your heart
Your body
Your soul

I want to promise you
Life

Part 3: I Want to Become…

I want to become
The chains that hold you hostage
In between their dungeon walls
Because then
They will no longer hold you down

I want to become
Your mended wings
So you can
Fly away from this chaos
This war

I want to become
Your light
Your candle
That can give you hope
Because
You will disappear
Without hope

I want to become
Your sacrifice
To become
The body
That takes your torture
Your pain
So that your life
May go on
Because you are the future

I want you to become
The survivor
