Walking Away

I don’t feel sorry
For what I’ve done
Or feel regret
For the pain I’ve caused
Because I know what I did
Was right

I feel some of the freedom
I have been craving
And I don’t feel the need
To always have someone at my side

I feel that the path to my past
Is finally drawing to a close
And the path to my future
Is slowly being made

Now I dream of the feeling
Of understanding
And peace in my life

I can now dream of the full content
Of the freedom I have been craving
But I know
That they shall come with time
And with the path of my past closing
I have learned the patience of waiting
To get what I want

So I shall wait
And not feel sorry
Or regret
With the choices I have made
And the choices I will make
