Waning Wants

I’m so dreary
And weary
And I just want to sleep

So tired
And drained
And I just want to sleep

Can you see the sun is gone
And the moon is out?

The sky is bright
But yet it is dark
For my eyes see a dark sky
While yours sees a bright one

Oh
I’m so dreary
And weary
And I just want sleep

I want to look up

At the sky
And see stars and dark blue
I want to see the bight moon
High above the trees and buildings
So I can just sleep
Away my worries

I’m so tired
And drained
And I just want to sleep

And every day when I look up
At the sky
I want to see the dark blue
Instead of the light blue
I want to see bright yellow stars
Scattering the sky
And not fluttering white clouds
Cascading the sky
I want to see the waning moon
Instead of the fiery sun

Because when I see this
I will feel my tension
Disappear
And my weary bones
And my exhausted mind
Can finally
Be at east
And I can just sleep
For all eternity
