There was a time; long ago

I saw the brief fear in your eyes

The whisper of your uncertainty

Never knowing what may be

Though nothing will be gained if you never take that step.

Throw yourself over the edge

Come and join me in the ruins

Where for miles you can see the beauty of what used to be

The vines that intertwine the stone

See the earthquakes cracks that line donjon

The layers of ashlars exposed by the floods

Scorch marks on the parapet

Our history is built on this very foundation

One that we slowly build to back to glory

Through any storm it will still stand

At least that's what I thought

Until I see your foundations crumble away

You never wanted that castle to rebuild

And so you will live the rest of your time in ruin
