Goodbyes and Other Tragedies
August 4, 2009
Sure, I believe in gravity
But will I let it take me down
I just don't trust the softness of this ground
Why is everyone is such a hurry to leave?
They finally got up on two feet
Then they found the door
They are no more
Who are they anyway?
The sun is only good for burning
My thoughts are weary for learning
You can't stay
Constantly changing scenery
Leaves my heart a mystery
The only thing that stays the same
Is my joy every time it rains
Sure, I believe in oxygen
But you'll still find me choking
On the dust turned up from driving too fast
My tears stayed longer than you
I find I'm always acting the brood
You made your appearance
You now have the clearance
To make a dramatic escape
The sun is only good for burning
My thoughts are weary for learning
You can't stay
Constantly changing scenery
Leaves my heart a mystery
The only thing that stays the same
Is my joy every time it rains
