Chapter 14

Cranking on the handle bards fiercely I attempted to get away from the gang. Glancing in my rear view screen I noticed Anto appeared to be in the front of the group while the rest followed closely behind. After increasing my speed for several seconds I realized it had given me no advantage over Anto’s gang and if anything they had only gotten closer. I tried to do several standard evading maneuvers, but because they had learned them all before they knew how to keep sight of me. I looked around the sides of the bike trying to find something to chuck at Anto or his goon in crime but with no avail. It seemed hopeless at this point, and then I felt a loose pipe. Upon several quick glances down it appeared useless to the bike as a whole so I hastily removed it.

I drew my attention now from the pipe to the glowing control screen. I needed to be completely focused when I threw the pipe so I tapped the small button reading AUTO-PILOT. I whipped my body around the bike so I was completely facing the two followers. I tightly grasped the pipe and held it over my head in what I though was a menacing stance.

“Don’t even try it,” I heard Anto bellow from his bike as he whipped out what appeared to be a standard stun gun. And with that my decision on who to throw the pipe was made. With in a split second I hurled the thick pipe directly at Anto sending him spinning forcing him to drop out of the chase. What I hadn’t expected was Anto’s goon to whip out a second stun gun. Upon seeing the gun my whole body froze.

“You know, it’s just for the bike. I hope this doesn’t hurt too much.” Anto’s goon yelled over the roaring rushing air. I noticed a slightly regretful look cross over his normally blank face. And with that he quickly pulled the stun gun’s trigger instantly paralyzing my body.

What most people don’t realize is with a standard stun gun, the victim’s body is not frozen in place, but is unable to control movements caused by another being such as gravity. This caused my once tensely gripping hands to loosen their hold on the back of the hover bike. This resulted in me falling from the bike in mid-air. I spiraled off the bike in what felt like enormous arches. As I was falling my unfrozen mind raced. I scanned the ground that I was now hurtling towards. I tried to find something that I was about to land on that wouldn’t kill me but all hope seemed lost when I saw I was over an empty field with no one in sight. Expecting the worst my mind joined my frozen body.

I know it's a short chapter and I'll be updating very shortly!
