Tokyo, Japan July 2001 Yamanaka House, Momosaki Juinor High School

Usagi felt bad for not hanging out with Shuya but she need to study for her finals. Even her grandmother made her to go to cram school since she was a first year student at Momosaki Junior High School. Anyway, after cram school, Usagi walk to her home. As soon as she enter her house and took off her shoes, the maikos is all dress up.

"Going out right?" Usagi ask.

"Yes we are." Hanako reply.

"Okay.....be careful." Usagi says to them.

"We will." Sakurako answer.

Usagi heads to the kitchen and met up with Chikako. She currently making a small dinner.

"Hey Chika baachan."

"Hello Usagi, how is school?"

"Its alright."

"Good to hear. Anyway, I making dinner for you."

"What about you, the maikos, and obaachan?"

"Your grandmother and I will eat our dinners before the Maikos meet up with their clients. Maikos with eat their dinner with their clients."

"Got it."

Usagi excuse herself and heads to her room. The next day, during lunch, while Usagi eats her lunch, Shuya approach her.

"Hey Usagi san." Shuya says to her.

"Hi Shuya kun." Usagi reply.

"Do you have any plans this Saturday?"

"Not at the moment. Why?"

"I just wanna know if you want to hang out with for a couple hours."

"Well.....if I say yes.....I would like to go to Yoyogi Park."

"Why Yoyogi park?"

"My friends sometimes hang out there. They also hang out at Harajuku Bridge a lot on Sundays."

"Cool.....so.....what is your answer then?"

"Let me ask my grandmother first."

"Alright then. I'll wait."

After school, Usagi heads to her choir club for an hour or so before heading to her home. As soon as she enter her house, she heads to her grandmother's bedroom. She knock on the bedroom door a few times before Riko let her in.

"Obaachan.....sorry to bother you, but can I ask you something?" Usagi ask.

"What is it?" Riko ask.

"Shuya asked me if I can hang out with him. Is it okay if I can hang out with him? He's nice."

"You can hang out with him, but I want to meet him first, Usagi."

"Okay. Arigato."

Usagi bow before exiting Riko's bedroom and heads to her bedroom. She place her bookbag on the floor before siiting on her bed. She text Shuya, telling him that she can hang out with him, but he need to meet her grandmother before heading to Harajuku. Shuya has to agree the terms. So, when Saturday finally came, Shuya heads over to Usagi's house around 10am. He knock on the front door a few times and wait. Soon enough, Chikako open the front door.

"Hello.....you must be Usagi's friend from school right?" Chikako ask.

"Hai......are you Usagi's grandmother?" Shuya ask back.

Shuya is wearing short sleeve gray shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes.

"No. I am Riko's friend. Please come in."

"Arigato."

Shuya enter the house and heads to the living room. As Shuya sit at the table, Chikako excuse herself and heads to the kitchen. After waiting for a few minutes, Riko enter the living room and sat across from Shuya.

"She look little scary." Shuya thought to himself.

"You must be Usagi's friend...right?" Riko ask.

"Yes ma'am....." Shuya answer.

"My name is Riko. What is your name?"

"Hirai Shuya. When will Usagi come down?"

"In the few minutes. Anyway, are you the same homeroom as Usagi?"

"Hai, Yamanaka san. We're friends since we were first years."

"That is good to hear."

A few minutes has pass and Usagi heads into the living room. Usagi is wearing maroon spagetti knee length dress with a bow on front and thiugh length purple socks. She kept her hair has a low braid. She even carrying her black bunny backpack.

"Hi Shuya kun." Usagi says to him.

"Hey Usagi." Shuya reply back.

"Usagi.....you got your cell phone with you right?" Riko ask.

"Hai obaachan."

"Okay then.......be home by dinnertime."

"Got it."

Shuya and Usagi exit the house and heads to the nearest train station. Soon enough, they're at Harajuku. As they walk towards Yoyogi Park, Shuya began talking to Usagi.

"I don't to be mean towards your grandma, but she look little mean." Shuya says to her.

"You think so? Well, I guess she has to look at mean to anyone who might want to see me...." Usagi reply. " Maybe she is overprotective of me."

"I see then. What about your parents? I don't think you ever mention them when we first met...."

"My mom died from cancer when I was little and my dad moved to a different city."

"Sorry to hear that."

"Its alright."

"How come you didn't moved in with your father, Usagi?"

"He has a new wife and kids. I think he would be embrass with me since I am half Japanese."

"Oh...."

"Anyway, what about your family, Shuya kun?"

"I am currently living with my parents and older brother, Minoru. My brother is a 3rd year student at the local high school."

"What is your parents work?"

"Dad works as a engineer and mom works at the local college."

"What she teaches?"

"She teaches chemisty."

"Cool....."

Once they're at Yoyogi park, they walk around a bit until they saw a small group of Rockabilly dancers dancing. Usagi quickly regonized of the dancers.

"Shuya kun. I want you meet my friend's boyfriend. His name is Shouta. He's really nice and cool." Usagi says to him.

"Is he one of the dancers?" Shuya ask.

"Hai. He's wearing the red leather jacket."

"Got it."

Shuya and Usagi continue to watch the dancers for a few minutes. When they finish dancing, Usagi and Shuya quickly walk up to Shouta.

"Hi Shouta nii chan." Usagi says to him.

"Hey Alice. You look cute today." Shouta answer. "Who is this guy?"

"I am Hirai Shuya. I'm her friend from her school." Shuya answer.

"A friend? Are you treating her nice?" Shouta ask Shuya.

"Yes I am. If I don't....her grandmother might hurt or something." Shuya reply.

"Alright then. Anyway, why you guys are here?" Shouta ask as he lit a cigeratte.

"Shuya kun simply want to hang out with me, Shouta nii chan." Usagi reply.

"It sounds like a date to me." Shouta stated.

"WE ARE NOT DATING!!" Shuya ye;;s at him.

"Anyway, where is Yukari nee chan?" Usagi ask.

"She's working at the hair salon at the moment." Shouta answer.

"What about you, Shouta? Do you work?" Shuya ask.

"I work at the car shop on Weekdays." Shouta answers. "I better get going. I see you later Alice."

"Bye, Shouta nii chan." Usagi reply.

Shouta heads back to his friends as Shuya and Usagi heads to a different direction. After going to a couple of shops, they head to the local fast food joint and order their lunch. As they eating their lunch, Shuya spoke up.

"How long you know Shouta and his girlfriend?" Shuya ask.

"Since I was first year student at middle school." Usagi reply. "They are really nice, even though they don't follow the norms."

"I see then."

After lunch, they head to the local arcade and play some games together. When its getting closer to dinner time, Usagi says her goodbyes to Shuya before heading to the train station and head home. As soon as she enter home, Chikako greet her.

"Welcome home, Usagi san." Chikako says to her.

"Hi Chika baachan. Is dinner ready?" Usagi ask as she took off her shoes.

"Almost. I will let you, your grandmother, and the maikos know. Okay?"

"Hai."

Usagi heads upstairs to her bedroom and close the door behind her. Soon enough, she start to study for her finals. After 20 minutes or so, the maikos enter Usagi's bedroom.

"Usagi chan. Dinner is ready." Hanako says to her.

"Please hurry or your plate will be cold." Sakurako add.

"I'm coming in a minute." Usagi says to them.

As soon as Hanako and Sakurako left her bedroom, Usagi puts away her books before exiting her bedroom. As she enter the kitchen, she join the maikos, Riko, and Chikako at the dinner table. Once dinner is over, Usagi washes the dishes and Chikako puts away the leftovers. Riko took the maikos to the living room and train with them.

When Sunday came around, Usagi woke up around 6:30am. She study for her finals for 20 minutes or so. Once she finish, she took off her pjs and change into gothic lolita corset yukata dress. The ruffle(front of the dress) is white and the corset is the color of black. The sleeves and dress are the color of dark gray clouds. She then puts on her black thigh length socks. Usagi fixs her hair into a bun before putting on fire red chin length wig with curls on the back. As Usagi comb the bangs, her grandmother enter her bedroom.

"Are you going to meet up with your friends?" Riko ask.

"Hai obaachan." Usagi answer.

"Okay then. Please bring your cell phone with you."

"Got it."

"Anyway, eat breakfast before you leave, Usagi."

"OK."

As Riko exit the bedroom, Usagi comb her wig a few more times. Once she finish, she puts her cell phone and wallet in her rabbit backpack before exiting her bedroom. As she enter the kitchen, the maikos and Chikako are at the dinner table.

"Where is obaachan?" Usagi ask.

"She is in her bedroom." Chikako answer. "Anyway, please eat your breakfast, Usagi san."

"Okay, Chika baachan."

Usagi sat at the table and ate breakfast with the maikos and Chikako. Once she's finish, Usagi says her goodbyes to them before putting on her shoes and exit her house. She heads to the nearest train station and took the train to Harajuku. She then walk to the Harajuku bridge and met up with Miki, Reina, and Sachie. Three of them are also dressing in either gothic/sweet lolitas or visual kei styles. Four of them go to 4 different Juinor High and High schools. They hang out at the Harajuku Bridge for over 2 - 3 hours before heading to the local resturant for lunch. After lunch, they head to Yoyogi park and watch some live music.

When its getting close to dinner, Usagi says her goodbyes to her friends before taking train back home. As Usagi enter the house and took off her shoes, she is greet by Chikako. Chikako told Usagi that dinner will be ready in half an hour or so. So, Usagi heads upstairs and enter her bedroom. She took off her wig and dress before grabbing a towel and heads to the bathroom.

For the next week and a half, Usagi has been studying a lot for her finals. She even stay at cram school for 2 hours before heading home. Even Riko told her for not studying too much or she might get sick. Usagi does relax, but want to get real good grades. Usagi did call Shouta, Yukari, Reina, Miki, and Sachie that she can't talk to them too long because of finals. When finals finally came, Usagi's homeroom teacher and aid let her have a same amount time for her finals as her peers. When finals are finally over, Usagi pretty much relax for the next few days.

When they pass out the finals to the students, Usagi is the top of her class and the school. Usagi did thought that she'll place 4th because she thought one of the 2nd years or 1st years students will be top of the school. So, when school is over, Usagi quickly heads home. As soon as she enter the house, she notice that her father and grandmother are sitting together at the living room.

"I'm home." Usagi says loudly as she took off her shoes.

"Did they pass out the finals yet?" Riko ask.

"I got my finals with me....." Usagi reply.

"Can we see them?" Masaru ask.

Usagi simply nod before opening her bookbag, took out her finals, and hand them over to her father. Masaru and Riko look over Usagi's finals before giving them back to Usagi.

"I am place 1st of my school and I am top of my class....." Usagi says to them.

"That is good to hear. You can go ahead and go to your room, Usagi." Riko says to her.

Usagi slightly bow before heading upstairs to her bedroom.

"Does she always get good grades, mother?" Masaru ask.

"Let me guess.....you were shock right?" Riko ask back.

"Yea....."

"Look, she probadly got her smart from Jinny san. She always reads to Usagi when she was alive."

"I know I know.....I just thought that her dusability might hold her back."

"It might, Masaru, but I know that she'll always try her hardest. Anyway.....are you, your wife and children are coming here?"

"Yes....we will be coming on the first week of August. We'll be staying with you for 2 weeks."

"Did you told your wife and kids about Usagi?"

"I mention it to Sumiko, but she doesn't want Usagi talking to the kids or the kids will ask questions. So.....can Chikako take Usagi to Hokkaido?"

"I need Chikako for my maikos. Anyway, let me talk to Usagi. You can leave now."

Masaru bow before standing up and exit the house. When dinner finally came, Riko, the maikos, Chikako, and Usagi ate dinner together. When dinner is over, Riko took Usagi to her bedroom. Once the bedroom doors is close, Riko spoke.

"Usagi.....you are aware that your father starts his new family, right?" Riko ask.

"Hai, obaachan." Usagi reply.

"Well.....he wants to bring his family over to this house. His wife, Sumiko, doesn't want you to talk to your sibilings."

"Why?"

"I don't know. Anyway, where you want to stay?"

"Can I stay with Yukari nee chan?"

"Well....alright then, but I need to call her."

"Here is her cell phone number, obaachan."

"Arigato......"

Riko call Yukari and ask her if her grand-daughter can stay with her for 2 weeks. Once Riko explain the situation to her, Yukari right away says yes. After they says their goodbyes, Riko told Usagi that she need to pack her clothes once 1st term is over. Usagi gave her grandmother a hug before heading upstairs to her bedroom.
