Prologue

Nine million, three hundred thousand, six hundred and fifty-one. Twelve million, eight hundred thousand, nine hundred and ninety-two.

Extinction. Annihilation. Devistation. Destruction.

Nine million...twelve million...one...

Love stories are made up of tragedies overcome and happy-endings. Love stories are laced together with a whimisical idea and a pretty poem. They're sappy and satirical by nature; no one lives happily ever after with their true love. Not in this life. Not in this era. Not in my time. Perhaps it's not because of the era. Nor is it because of the ideas or prejudices. More than likely it lies in what I am. It lies in how I live. Immortaly.

Fairy tales always come with a downside. A wicked witch. A troll. A monster lurking in the shadows that must be overcome.

Tell me, what do you do when you are your own monster? What do you do when, by nature, you shouldn't hold what all the tales promise you?

Damon Lazerasc

Author's Note: Thank you for choosing to read this. As this is only a very short prologue, I feel I should apologize. The first chapter should more than make up for this. I do ask that you please leave a review. I cannot obviously force you, but sharing what you thought is always extremely important to the growth of other writers. Thank you!
