I walked along the beach hoping to find Tylor. I knew she would be here somewhere. She loved this place. She always came here when she was younger and now she could drive, she drove her more often. I knew it was just to get an ice cream when she had a bad day but she still loved it here and I hoped I would find her. She didn’t come home last night and I knew in my heart I had to find her. Not just for my own purposes but because everyone she knew was worried. I set out straight away when her mum rang me at 5am this morning. The minute she told me Tylor was missing and that she hadn’t come home last night I was out of bed and in the car.
My eyes searched everywhere. I couldn’t see her and then I spotted something. A foot? A dirty bloody foot? Panic struck me. I raced towards it and there in a heap half-naked was Tylor. She had bruises from head to foot and she had cuts everywhere. I looked around and above where she sat. She was nowhere near the ice cream shop that I knew she loved and she was hidden from prying eyes. What happened to her? I lightly brushed her bangs out of her eyes and stared in shock. She had what looked like a knife cut down the side of her face barely missing her left eye.
I sighed. I did this. I thought to myself. I caused this to happen. If I didn’t let her come by herself, this wouldn’t have happened. I sighed again and shook my head. I had to get it together. I couldn’t be feeling sorry for myself.
I slipped my arm under Tylor's legs just behind the knee and then I slipped the other hand under her, behind her arms and shoulder blades. Her head fell limp into my shoulder and I knew she was safe or as safe as she could be. I walked along and tried to find some steps. I finally did and I walked up them. I looked down at her again and then I stalked off towards my car.

I felt feeling flow through my body I awoke. I felt two strong arms around me carrying me along. I didn’t know who it was and I didn’t want to find out just yet. Their arms were strong around my shoulders and my legs fell loosely over the other arm. My head was leaning towards them. I opened my eyes and looked up.
It was male. I knew that. His hair was dark and shiny. I couldn’t see their eyes but skin was dark. Whoever he was, I wondered why he was helping me.

I walked along the beach and I was just about to round the corner when I heard a sound. I looked down and smiled. Tylor was awake.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” I asked. She didn’t answer. “Tylor?” I questioned. She just stared at me.
“Who are you? Who’s Tylor? Where am I? Where are you taking me?” she spat. Her eyes were wild and my heart dropped. She didn’t know me. I stared at her in shock. I wanted to drop her from shock. I wanted to collapse. Everything I knew, she knew was gone. She didn’t remember it at all.
“Ty?” I questioned again. She stared at me her eyes wild.
“Who are you? Where am I? Who am I? Why am I here with you? I don’t know you!” she ranted. I took in a breath and calmed myself.
“I’m Mark, I saw you were hurt so I am helping you out.” If she had amnesia then she wouldn’t remember anything at all. I knew that for sure. “Don’t be scared, I’m helping, okay?” she started at me.
“What is scared? What is helping?” she looked at me confuzzled. I had to answer her, right?
“Helping is being kind. I assist you in things. I work with you to try and….sort things out.” He eyes shone with fear, I knew that. “Now, scared is part if the emotion fear.” Her eyes lit up.
“What is an emotion?” she asked. I almost did drop her then. She didn’t know what emotions were. She couldn’t remember anything about anyone. She didn’t remember me. She didn’t remember her feelings about anyone or anything.
“Uh…an emotion is something you feel. You are feeling scared about me. I frighten you because you do not know me. Or you could be angry at the person who has assaulted you.” Her head cocked to the side. “Don’t worry; I’ll explain everything, okay. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what happened to you because I wasn’t there.” I told her softly. I placed her feet on the floor and smiled.
She looked at the floor and at her bare feet. “You are now standing.” I told her. She nodded. She wiggled her toes.
“These are toes and that is my foot. I have legs.” She whispered. I cracked a smile and nodded.
“Yeah” I sighed. “You have legs.” I said softly trying not to laugh. I turned her around so her back was facing me. When Tylor spoke, I heard the curiosity in her voice.
“What is that?” She asked me. I followed her eyesight and I saw she was looking at me car.
“That is a car. It gets you from place to place. I came from home to here in my car.” She walked unsteadily up to it and touched it.
“Do I have one?” she asked. She looked at me hope spreading over her face. I nodded.
“Yes, probably been towed away my dear or you will get a major bill through the post.”
“Bill? Post? What are they?” She asked. Such curiosity I thought.
“A bill is something you get when you spend money.” I took some change out of my pocket and showed her. “This is money, or coins. I will explain more later. Post is something you get through the door of your house. A house is where you live. Like that house over there.” Her eyes followed mine and smiled.
“Do I live there?” she asked.
“No” I said, her face fell into disappointment. “You live near me.” Her eyes flicked at me.
“So, you live in a house and you go from place to place in a car.” She twittered. I nodded. Her face then looked at me her eyes shining with glee. “Do you love in your car?” she asked. I sighed. This may take some time I thought.
“No. Come on, let’s get you buckled in.” I muttered. I unlocked my car and opened the door. Her expression was full of amazement she walked closer unaware that she was feeling alarm about sitting in the car.
“That funny feeling you’re getting. It is named fear. You don’t have to fear me.” She nodded and looked inside. “That is a seat. You sit on it like so,” I spoke calmly and easy so I knew she would understand. I moved to sit in the car and I placed myself on the seat. I moved my legs into the foot space in front of me. “Understand?” She nodded and smiled. I got out of the car and she then moved herself into my place. I then crouched down besides her. I took the seat belt in my arms.
“This is a seat belt. It keeps you safe. You must wear this okay. If you want to know who you are, you must wear these at all times. Okay?” I told her. She nodded a little intimidated. “Good” I leaned over her and plugged her in. I then shut the door and walked round to the other side of the car.
