Raspberry Nights

Raspberry nights; I find
the sky pink, and purple.
But not as bruised as the moon I saw –
she holds her head high.

I witness a star fall, another
promise gone -they drop like bullets-
Why should I wish upon another,
when it's unnecessary, pointless?

When the sun drowns itself
slowly into the sea,
I have a sense of foreboding,
almost like a beautiful melancholy...

Now I envy the carefree sky,
free of burden and sorrow,
until it sinks, back into my
raspberry night.
